The New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade is the largest, single-day spectator event in the State of Connecticut, and one of our longest running troops. The last few years have been a great collaboration between all the CT Star Wars clubs and we've been growing with members from all over New England and NY coming to visit too!  Lets keep up the trend!

Click on the "trooping" bit on the event post here so we can log you on the troop tracker, but also please put your name on the spreadsheet so we can figure out all attendees.

AFTER PARADE DINNER -

St Patrick's Day Post Parade Dinner Info
Dinner will be held at J-Roos
243 State Street, North Haven, CT 06473

We will have buffet style dining.  Price per head 31.50 payable to joe.a.civitello@gmail.com. Any booze or extras you'll have to start your own tab.

I try to be as accommodating as possible and as conscious of everyone's situation as I can, so if anyone would like to attend but the price point is a factor, please contact me offline and we can work something out.

PARADE INFO - MAY CHANGE CLOSER TO EVENT

We usually rally at the Granite Street Garage on the parking list early so we have enough time to BS and kit up before shuttles go to the step off point at 11am.  Please plan accordingly.  Its never fun rushing or leaving people behind in the garage as they get their kits together.

Game day:
  • 9-10am - Arrive at Granite Street Garage (It's not a huge garage so the earlier the better.  around 10-10:30  it starts to fill up.  Secondary lot parking is also available (see attached parking info)
  • 11am - First shuttles to rally point
  • 1:30 - Parade Start
  • 2-230 ish - Step off for our club

Once at step off we'll mill around for an hour or two prior to the march and CTG will set marching order once everyone is there.

GENERAL INFO

PARKINGParking for Participants ONLY is available at the Granite Square Parking Garage. The parking structure is located
at 690 State Street, New Haven CT 06511 between Audubon Street & Trumbull Street. The entrance to this lot is
via State Street ONLY. One occupant vehicles will not be permitted to park in this lot. (IF YOU ARRIVE EARLY NOBODY CHECKS)

Yale University Parking Lot #16 & #22 have been reserved for one occupant vehicles. Yale Lots # 16 & 22 are located at the intersection of
Whitney Avenue & Humphrey Street. Entrance from Whitney Avenue.

Shuttle buses will be available for transportation to the assembly area from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. from both parking areas There will be no return
shuttle buses at the end of the parade.

We'd like to have everyone ready and suited up by the time the first shuttle roles out, so plan your arrival to accommodate this. A 9:00 - 10am arrival may be best to avoid traffic and complications and to ensure you have space to park.  I'm a big fan of "the earlier the better" so nobody ends up in any kind of rush.  There will likely be some standing around and general milling about and drinking coffee in the lot before we start getting dressed in earnest, but it's a lot better than rushing around.

We are being bussed to the staging area, so there won't be anywhere for you to store anything.  Whatever you have with you when you leave the lot will be with you for the rest of the day.

There will NOT be any shuttle buses returning to the Yale Lot 16 at the end of the Parade.

The end of the parade is about a 2 block walk from the parking garage

Topic is for discussion of event. To Sign up/RSVP for this event, please visit the calendar link: New Haven St Patrick's Day Parade - 3/16/25

Just want to let those in the area of northcentral CT that if you prefer to carpool down to the parade, I can pick you up or we can meet at my firehouse in West Stafford where you can safely leave your vehicle. Those coming from points north also... MA peeps. :)  just let me know ahead of time so I can figure out logistics.

I would love to carpool! I'm in Clinton but obviously willing to meet somewhere convenient for you. Thanks!

I signed Chopper up and I think he can manage the road, if you don’t want him there let me know, I won’t be in kit for any event this year

I dont mind him as long as he can make the trip.  the real issue will be if there is a malfunction on the route of any kind how do we get him safely stowed.

For now we don't have truck or float planned but that may be coming.

Best idea would be to try to take him out for a couple mile stroll and see how he does that way you know what to expect and what challenges you may encounter you haven't considered yet.

He had drive gear failure at the Quinnipac events so that’s going to be addressed, and if I can make the Hartford event march 1st that will be a test for those new gears.

im just gonna withdraw from the parade to eliminate any issues with breakdowns unless we do a float where he can ride

again, i have no issues with him being there but you know that parade and the route has spots that might be a little unforgiving for his wheels and gears and if there's no way to get him out if he breaks down it'd be a bad time.

i'll touch base with SG and RL this week to see if we want to try to do a float and he could ride along there otherwise.  He'd be kind of lost behind the walls riding in the back of a pickup.

Last year, Kyle - who also lives in Clinton - met me at Joe and Kristin's in Middletown. He left his car there and hopped in with me. We can do that too if you prefer to not drive into New Haven yourself.  I attend the after parade dinner and then we can leave any time after we've eaten and visited with everyone.  :)

Echo base can come :)

This isnt' an LFL so you can come down.  I'll be collecting money for the after parade dinner probably startin next week.

Please sign up on the spreadsheet linked above so i can track who is coming.  We already have a Rey marching so talk to @Finruiniel to see if they're cool with ahving another Rey for us to put somewhere else in the formation.  otherwise standby is fine.

As far as sleeves on the standby, im a big fan of "do what you gotta do to be comfortable"

Hey all - as of now Bryan and I are unable to attend this year. Our dog has cancer and he has been very sick within the past month so we need to be home for him. Not to sound morbid, but if he is no longer with us by the time of the parade we may be making a last minute decision to attend. @Backpacks Got Jets I kept us on the sign up sheet for now with a maybe for the after dinner, but as of now we are still a decline invite.

We will miss being there and sure that it's going to be an incredible turnout as always!

Anyone interested in a ride to New Haven let me know ahead of time so I can plan picking you up or meeting you in a designated place beforehand.  I prefer to get to the parking garage between 830/9:00 am just so you know.

I’ll switch to something else. I feel like it’d be supremely jerky of me to make you wear not only a cold costume but also an orange outfit :)

I might switch to TROS Rey. Multiples are fine with me if they’re different costumes.

Awww, it wouldn't be jerky at all! But I do welcome the opportunity to wear more layers lol. If you reeeeeally don't mind, then yay, I'll be Rey. Appreciate it @Finruiniel! I'm unsure yet if I can attend the dinner, but can confirm by the weekend for sure. THANKS FOR HAVING ME FOLKS! This is always a super fun event.

An update - sadly Bryan and I had to say goodbye to our best boy Mouse last Thursday. :(
As of now, Bryan will not be attending but I am planning to make it with the rest of the Jersey crew. I'll update the Google sheet as well.

Great! I usually pick up Kyle at Joe and Kristen's house in Middletown. You can either meet us there or carpool with Kyle up to Middletown since you both live in the same town. I mentioned it to him the other day on our way to the Bridgeport game and he looks forward to it if you choose to go that route. :) Can't wait!

I know this is last minute but if anyone on the shoreline  wants to carpool to NH let me know. I plan to leave Guilford around 8:15 - 8:30.
