Thank you very much for taking part in our Space Expo event this year! We are so happy to have you. Below is information for day of, if you have any questions please let me know!

Overall Info

• The event will be held onsite at the New England Air Museum, 36 Perimeter Road, Windsor Locks CT 06096
• Saturday, April 26, 2025; 9AM – 3PM
• Your appearances will be 9:30AM – 11:30AM and 12:30PM – 2:30PM

Check-in/Parking

• Please arrive to the museum for setup between 7:30AM and 8:30AM. The event will begin right at 9AM.
• Parking: When you arrive to the museum, there will be an open gate to the right of the building (with signs directing you). Please enter through the gate and park behind the building; staff will be there to show you where to park.
• Everyone will check in at our Civil Aviation Hangar doors. There will be signs and staff to direct.
• You will be given a gold wristband to indicate you are with the 501^st.
  • All volunteers for your group will be admitted for free; any additional guests coming to visit will need to pay admission at the front desk.
• Note: If you have anyone in your group that will be checking in AFTER 8:30AM, please have them park in the regular lot and check in at the front desk.

Lunch

• Your lunch will be in the B-29 Classroom starting at 11:30AM. Lunch will be assorted sandwiches.
• There will also be a food truck onsite if you would like to purchase your own food.

Event Info

• Your break area will also be in our B-29 Classroom. There are bathrooms in that area as well. You are welcome to leave your gear there during the event. Volunteers and staff from the museum will also be using this as a break/lunch area.
• You are welcome anywhere on the museum floor during your appearances! Guests will be in all three hangars.

Breakdown

• The event ends at 3PM, all groups must leave the museum by 4PM as that is when we close.

Are we splitting this troop into 2 shifts? Us old folks may have a hard time pulling a 6+ hour shift in armor. We can’t all have the stamina that Brenda has! 😅

There's usually a morning and afternoon shift.   We'll get something going so people can choose which shift a little closer to the event.

My friend, my fellow Fett... I got your back. We can definitely work it out any way you want to. If you want to do like last year, I'll cover the morning and then when you get there you can take Boba Fresh out and maybe I'll debut my Imperial Ground Crew that has never been worn in public.   

Or my Death Watch if I have it done by then. ... You tell me how you want to work it.

I can’t add chopper for both shifts? I see there is a soft cap and well I signed up before there was a sign up sheet, so if someone can add me/chopper please I’d appreciate it

I'm going to try and have some shelves set up so people can display their helmets if they don't want to wear them, or if you have multiples.

Not sure if I'll make it for the morning or not with my school work load, it depends on how much I get done but I wanted to give some heads up. I should still be able to make it for the afternoon though. For the morning I'm signed up as a wrangler so it shouldn't have an impact on people trooping for the soft cap. Should I take my name off the morning shift, and if I end up being available....you guys just end up with an extra handler in the morning?

 

On a side note, this is just a few days before my 30th birthday so I will be bringing cake for everyone at lunch.
