Hello to my fellow Star Wars Fans

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Name is Chris and have finally decided it is time to start working on my first suit.  I'm thinking of doing a Tie Pilot.  Taking it back to my days when I was in the Navy.  It's nice when the kids are finally old enough that you can start taking time to do things you had to put off doing the adulting and parenting things.  I look forward to picking peoples brains and making a bunch of new friends with a common interest in Star Wars.

Thanks,

Chris

Hey chris!

Good to have you aboard

Tie Pilots are a great costume that are relatively easy to build and are super recognizable and loved by a ton of people

The Tie Piilot detachment is called Jolly Roger Squadron, which has a ton of resources on putting your build together.

If you ahven't already looked there are several different types of TIE pilots that are approvable costumes for the legion here

Most people like to do the classic Original Trilogy pilot. We also have armor makers and Tie Pilots in the garrison so when you're ready we can provide you with all the resources you'd need to get started.

As a new recruit youre welcome to attend any event we participate in as a "wrangler" until your kit is complete and then you can go as a costumed character

You're also welcome to attend any social gatherings we have.

December is pretty slow but on 12/13 we're having an "end of year dinner" at Sliders in Wallingford which would be a good opportunity to meet a bunch of us in a casual setting and have a decently fun time.

Thanks Joe,

I am in the process of fitting the 3d models before going for the full print.  I've already found a lot of the soft pieces (flight suit, boots, gloves, and so on).   I am looking forward to the experience and in the end getting approval and doing some Star Wars thing around CT.
