  1. Hi 501st CTG,??

Its been awhile since I updated about my inferno squad costume. I sadly didn't receive my helmet the other day as when I opened the box it was not a inferno squad helmet but a AT-AT pilot helmet. The seller packaged the wrong helmet so supposedly my helmet is being shipped today. Again ill be posting pics of the inferno helmet once it comes in.??

On the other hand i've begun to acquire items for my imperial officer belt that is under my scout belt and today i received the belt and disc located on the buckle from Wampa Wear.????So here is a quick snap of those two pieces.????As for the buckle I have a friend who is a welder and is making the buckle for me! Once the whole belt comes together I upload that. Otherwise im close to buying my DLT-19x soon , and hope y'all who are also in the middle of building costumes?? are doing good.

    From Quentin, S.????

  2. I found this group that does the 3D printing for the DLT-19x and was wondering out of the two materials used to buy the model which one is the better one? The two types of material on the website is a 3D??printed kit or a resin cast which they also have the choice of a resin cast original HD copy. I will leave the link below for anyone needing better info but if someone can point me to the right direction on this that would be great.??

We went to Orlando and it was a mad house. Hopefully is either run by someone else or reedpop fixes the disaster that was last years celebration.

It was a mad house but I thought it was still awesome. I do agree that a better organizer is needed because getting a autograph was a disaster.??

  4. So we finally got the announcement for celebration and was wondering what everyone thought of the location and if anyone is planning on going? I hope for myself that I have spring break during that week of April but?? we will see. Let me know what y'all??think!

Those look good! ??Give em a good shine :)

    ??

what flightsuit you going with? ??I've always wanted a wampawear one, but they're a pain to find in stock

Thanks and yes definitely will shine them.??

Im getting the flight suit from Jim Tripon on Facebook, Wampa wear doesn't make a Inferno flight suit and yeah?? they are not good with stock. Jim has good priced suit with the correct strip measurements and zipper hider.??

  6. Finally another piece of my costume arrived today! Got the Jack boots from Sovietboots.com and they look great and fit really well. They also are the right height with them being almost to my knee. Once I get the jumpsuit I will take a picture with them on as I dont have anything proper to wear with these that wont look silly lol.

Still waiting on the helmet and supposedly its shipping out soon but soon with this seller could mean another two weeks...?.??Once I get the helmet I will share multiple picture of all the sides and interior.??

    Q.??

I know WTF makes a TIE kit, and I believe Troopermaster does too. ??I'd ask over on the Jolly Roger Squad forum or see if they have a "vetted maker" list. ??

Okay sounds good! Thanks for letting me know, information is always appreciated??

TIE pilot gear, right? ??Usually ABS vac formed plastic. ??Sometimes PVC.

    ??

Which seller did you have in mind?

Yes, and okay I'll make sure to ask and the seller I have in mind is??JawaChopShop, he's on facebook if you want to check him out. I bought my helmet from him but it has taken awhile for him to send it out. So I plan on finding another seller for the armor parts??and have even asked someone else in the 501st in Virginia to see if they know anyone. If you have anyone in mind then I'd appreciate knowing. Thank you in advanced!

  9. To anyone,??

I was wondering for my chest and back armor what type of plastic should I be looking for from a seller. I know when I spoke to some of you at the armor party there was a discussion of what plastic was durable and affordable. To be clear im buying the armor from a seller so I want to make sure hes using the right stuff??

My MP40 leather pouches have a block of wood in them filling them.

    ??

You can also use scrunched up newspaper, foam, plastic bags... anything really! :D

Sounds good, ill probably try the newspaper to see how that goes!

  11. Hello fellow legion members,

Just making this topic a thread for a update and show of the pieces I have gotten for my build.?? So far I have only received my shoulder ammo pouch in the mail and I know as boring as that might be to start this thread Id figured I just post about it now verses waiting another week or two. Also am happy to point out that these were from trooperbay, thanks Art for showing me, and was surprised to see the stitching was already black!????

Also I had hoped my Helmet would have been here after 4 months of having ordered it but sadly it has not yet arrived, gonna have to contact seller again. To add to the list of items im waiting to come in are my boots that I got from Sovietboots.com. Cant wait to see them but was wondering if anyone had experience buying items from them and if I must contact the US customs office to see if I gotta pay extra tax for an international item? I did pay a flat rate of $30 so im hoping that covers customs if thats the case. Otherwise im gonna continue making more purchases throughout the next few months for more parts and we will see how far I get by the end of summer. Plan is to be done by Winter this year.

Below are two photos front and back of the shoulder ammo pouch, sorry if they look grainy seems like phone photos take a turn for the??worse on laptop,??anyone have any ideas as to how I give the pouches more of a filled look?????Or do I need to find some sort of light ammo cartridge thats the same size to give it that true look???

    Have a great day, Q

That groove down the center and the handle are worrysome.?? The end cap also looks pretty inaccurate.?? The magazine and magazine housing are both missing lots of detailing.?? It also looks like it's missing the receiver lever.

Out of curiosity, what did you pay for it?

You have two easy options if you think the sunk cost is worth trying to make it more accurate;?? Purchase secondhand resin parts to swap out with some elbowgreases, such as from something like a Doopeydoos kit, or purchase a cut up Sterling L2A3 and glue the parts onto it/swap out what is needed.

If you're not sunk into fixing this particular model, there's several sellers that can get you hooked up with a decent E-11 kit for good prices.?? If you plan to give it wear and tear of trooping, going with a Hyperfirm FX E-11 is really good; you can drop the things and they won't break, just bounce.?? You can pick up Grade B's over on FISD for $150~ when they pop up for sale, sometimes better.
If you'd rather something highly accurate, the Doopeydoos Resin kit is pretty awesome, as well as the PhoenixProps kit.?? Both sellers are over on FISD.
You can also take a cut up Sterling L2A3 and modify it onto a new pipe to have a "fully metal" E-11... but it's a bit of a pain.?? I'm halfway through my rebuild in full steel, and Luke Spies (another CTG member) did a build before the same way that came out fantastic.

For a DLT-19... If you're looking for cheap and durable, I picked up a Grade B from HyperfirmFX over on FISD one of the times they were selling for like $200, and love the thing to death.?? You could probably attach a scope to it fairly easily, or they might even sell ones with addon scopes.?? There was another guy selling fully resin DLT-19s with folding stocks and electronics and all that cool crap, but they ran about $400~.?? I think he was selling off facebook.?? Alternatively if you're really ambitious, lucky, and have money to burn, a CT demilled MG34 occasionally will pop up at antique dealers in the $1,000-3,000 range; but I'd mount that on my wall before I bring that sort of thing to a troop ;)

As an FYI, if you don't care much for accuracy and just want basic approval on your costume, that E-11 isn't too far off that level.?? It looks a bit rough, but some folks still troop with Hasbro blasters so the legion isn't too picky.

Thank you for the knowledge and advice. I paid $45 for it and trying to sell it hoping that someone who just needs a simple prop E-11 could find use for it. Otherwise Im gonna start saving up for the DLT-19X as thats the goal with Del using it quite often in BF2. I think I found someone on IG who makes the DLT-19X and i believe it was $300 and??is a resin kit.????

  13. Now I know for the Del Meeko approved costume the DLT-19X and the E-11 are both allowed, I dont have funds for a DLT-19X but do have my hands on this etsy E-11 that was made by someone in mandomercs. I was wondering what everyone's opinion on the detailing and??make of this blaster, and if it is suitable for my costume. I kinda feel that the weathering and detailing could be a lot better and if anyone is okay with helping me fix this and is going to the armor party I would be more than willing to bring it with me. I have several photos below but if these are hard to really see what the blaster is like id like to still bring it to the armor party to get advice on what to make new of it. If anyone knows a affordable and accurate way of building the DLT-19X id love to know!??Thank you.??
