The Connecticut Garrison has been invited to the Mohegan Sun convention hall to join this year's TerrifiCon!?? This three day event is one of Connecticut's largest conventions and will be a great chance for us to meet fans, promote the 501st, and raise donations! Website with full guest list and details:??http://www.terrificon.com/ Signups As with all multi-day events, we'll be setting up in shifts.?? Please let me know which shift(s) you'd like to participate in when you RSVP for the event. I've been assured event passes will not be an issue, so we have no caps on shift attendance.?? Please RSVP to the event if you're attending, and??POST BELOW on which shift(s) you'll be attending! Shifts last 3-4 hours each. You're expected to be??DRESSED AND READY??at the start time, so come early! You're expected to??STAY AT THE TABLE??or move around the venue as discussed on the day.?? Do not leave the table to check out the convention during shift time! At the end of your final shift for the convention, please return your entry badge to a wrangler or command team member. Children are welcome??to come costumed but must be attended!?? Remember this event will get??very busy at times.?? The above rules for being on time and staying at the table apply! --RECRUITS-- If you'd like to attend as a wrangler and help keep our members safe, set up or break down our tables, and keep us company, it is always appreciated!?? This is a fantastic way to get involved with the garrison while still waiting on your costume build.?? Just post below or PM me to be added to the sign up list We will need folks to help put up and break down our props and tables on Friday and Sunday.???? ?? ?? ?? Topic is for discussion of event.?? If you haven't ever attended one before, this would be a fantastic time!?? We'll be hosting our Blast-A-Troop charity event as we have in years past, with event proceeds going to NAMI.?? If you're wearing a full helmeted character you'll be able to participate! Please RSVP to the event if you're attending, and POST BELOW on which shift(s) you'll be attending! Shifts last 3-4 hours each. You're expected to be DRESSED AND READY at the start time, so come early! You're expected to STAY AT THE TABLE or move around the venue as discussed on the day.?? Do not leave the table to check out the convention during shift time! At the end of your final shift for the convention, please return your entry badge to a wrangler or command team member.?? We may need to distribute these to other troopers. Children are welcome to come costumed but must be attended!?? Remember this event gets very busy at times.?? The above rules for being on time and staying at the table apply! Last year we also had some issues getting blasters in past security.?? Please set blasters at the bottom of your bins, add orange tape to the tip, and don't bring anything too menacing.?? You may be asked to return them to your car or room We'll also need folks willing to volunteer their time on Friday Evening (June 29) to help us move and set up our props!?? If you're staying at the casino it would be extremely helpful.?? Below is a google sheets document to track the saturday/sunday shift signups.?? Please post with what costume you plan on wearing (or if you're wrangling), and what shift times you'll attend. If you're planning to stay at the hotel, please see the hotel info thread: ?? We've love to host the 501st again for AvonCon, the Avon Library's annual all ages celebration of comics and graphic novels. Our event runs from 11am-4pm. We transform our library into a pop culture celebration--the 2018 theme is "Twisted Tales" and what better way to celebrate than to have the troopers literally storm the castle?!
