Just curious... this is still in the Pending Event tab. Is this a confirmed event yet?
we can't "confirm" an event with only 1 trooper signed up for it. We will have to decline this soon if we don't have confirmation with more attending.

Awesome! Good to meet you. RI has some of my favorite troopers!
Hope to see you often!

Awesome good to have you on the boards. The Space expo sign up should be in the confirmed events section for you to take a look at.

Bump.
This sunday.
As of today (3/6) we are going on as planned. if anything changes with weather we will make a command decision on Saturday 3/9 that we will disseminate.

Hey thats great. Weather permitting we have the st Patrick's parade this weekend you'd be welcome to attend!
-
So weather is becoming an issue which isn't awesome.
The parade is a "Rain or Shine" event so there's no rain date for a do-over. For now sunday looks like it'll be bad weather but hopefully the forecast will shift before then.
Any decision on cancelling our appearance due to weather will be made likely Saturday after discussions with command as the weather conditions have been shifting this last week or so. Hold out for good weather. A light drizzle never necessarily killed anyone, but I won't put anyone's health or costumes at risk.

Dinner information updated-
St Patrick's Day Post Parade Dinner InfoDinner will be held at J-Roos243 State Street, North Haven, CT 06473We will have buffet style dining. Food, soda and tip will end up being $27.50 per head payable to treasury@ctg501.com. Any booze or extras you'll have to start your own tab. Please make payment ASAP so we can start getting a final head count for the order.I know it's more expensive than i usually try to make the group dinners but around the New Haven area there weren't many cheaper options that gave us space and a decent meal.I try to be as accommodating as possible and as conscious of everyone's situation as I can, so if anyone would like to attend but the price point is a factor, please contact me offline and we can work something out.- 1

This is officially my first post as your Garrison Commander for 2024
This has been a unique experience for me. My previous two years were walkover elections. I was unchallenged and with that comes a certain level of complacency and happiness with the status quo. After all, when nobody opposes you, you end up getting a certain sense of "I must be doing a fantastic job"
Ray did us all a favor by putting his hat in the ring for these elections. I think this process truly reinvigorated the Garrison and made us all pay better attention to "What can we do better" and it's an acknowledgement that the status quo, though easy and apparently functional enough, may not be the best route for us to take for the future of the the club.
After what is likely the most respectful election the Legion has ever seen, I come away humbled by the support of our membership and inspired to do better as your Commander.
The next several days will be review and finalizing the 2024 command team which will be announced separately.
I'm very much looking forward to this year and what we can accomplish together to keep our garrison successful. I'll be looking to not only my command staff, but to every individual in the garrison for help with how we can do better as a group and strengthen our little club even more.
Thank you again for your continued support. Now it's time to live up to expectations.

@jimsprenkle The link is an invitation to the server for people who have not yet gotten access to the CTG discord.
If you've already signed into the discord server you can just go to the meetup section.

YESSSS!! After Parade Party!!!
We have to pay to go to parades??
There's a registration fee for the middletown pride parade since we do that one as a personal effort instead of leveraging a donation from the organizers like we do for the St Pattys parade.

Do we have any intention on doing a float or something this year?
No. Keeping it simple. Truck is still a likely option to drag the wookiee around though
