  1. Print #1 completed. They came out pretty well too!

I painted up the "aluminum" backing to the helmet. Yeah yeah, it's gotta be ACTUAL aluminum for Spearhead.... so this one fits well, once my metal stock comes in, I can lathe it in actual metal. But for now, this will do with some tapped holes in the back of the helmet.

Now for the chestplate... I think these that I found for $3 will work great for the buttons!

    That green is awesome

Camera doesn't do it justice but it's the perfect feldgrau.  I kept walking between my garage and the sunlight to watch the Gray-to-Olive transition haha

  3. Day two of making this thing... I cut the hole in the bucket for the rivet. I think it gets painted (unlike the snowies) so I'll leave it in there.

I also glued on the little circle thingies.

Eyeballed marked and drilled the spots for the disk greeblies which I'll add on after painting.

Blew the belt pieces nice and wide open for my thick Officer belt to pass through and buckle underneath

For the rivet covers, I figured out that the Rebel push button insert found parts I have laying around work pretty perfect. I put cap rivets under them and CA glued them in place. The cap rivets will go through nylon or elastic or some crap when I'm ready to bridge the shoulders.

After a good long thought about the chest box and how to do the little vertical lines, I came back to my FAVORITE modeling material ever to use; TOOTHPICKS!

I've also been thinking about the little buttons. And it dawns on me they look exactly like a pill capsule. So I took one of my fiancee's vitamin capsules and emptied it out (please don't tell them) and turned it into literally the smallest mold I've ever made.

Meanwhile, nice day out, time to get some painting done. I gave a flat gray prime to both the chest and the back

Then I used this paint that I got from some miniature tank nerds to make a proper feldgrau color with

printer is still printering, so we gotta wait to finish the helmet tomorrow. I also managed to bend the absolute sith out of a piece of aluminum from before, but I don't love it. Gonna come back to it with a replacement that's cleaner later in the build but for now it will get me past the post of approval.

  4. Okay, this box of plastic has been sitting in my garage too long, and the con starts at the end of July. Time to build an AT-AT Veers.

So I bought a set from MonCal a while back. The top and bottom of the helmet are glued together, but everything else is up to me (Because I just asked for the ABS plastic... no vacuum former yet or I'd be making my own molds there too lol).

Step one, I need to make the stupid metal rangefinder piece. The spearhead requirement say it has to be metal. And also painted. Why? Who knows, but I guess I'm making it out of metal.

I got this scrap aluminum laying around, it'll work to start

My calculator says 1.5" diameter means approx 5" diameter, so approx 5" I'll cut it

Gonna band saw it down to size and bend it into a circle... but first, I gotta make the little greeblie pad.

    Please note:

    1. Self-powered vehicles and wagons or trailers longer than 10 feet or wider than 8 feet must enter the  assembly area at 12:30 p.m. Large vehicles will not be allowed into the assembly area after the streets are blocked for assembly at 1:00 p.m.

    2. Only march unit vehicles are allowed in assembly area.

    3. Do not throw anything to spectators. This is a safety issue. Small children tend to run after these, regardless of vehicles.

    4. Units with animals are required to clean up after the animals. This is a public health issue.

    5. At the end of the Pride March, marchers should proceed directly into the Pride Rally/ Pride Fest on the South Green.  Large vehicles must turn left onto Union Street.

Middletown PrideFEST 2023 will take place from 12:00-10:00 p.m. in downtown Middletown. The event will kick off with a march down Main Street beginning at 1:00 p.m. sharp from the northern end of Main Street. The March will conclude at the end of Main Street with participants entering the South Green area and vehicles continuing on the route down Union Street to park their vehicles.

Once the march concludes, we will host our second annual Pride Rally on the South Green from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

See attached PDF for maps and stuff.

We're DIVISION 3 (CT 501st Garrison).  We're BEHIND the Connecticare and ahead of the CT Cosplay Alliance.  That means we organize at Pease Ave at Stack St Intersection.

  6. They're *REALLY* dragging on those, so I'm gonna make up some stuff.  Subject to change:

We don't know where we are starting and won't know until day of.

Expect step off to be at 1pm, so you should probably park and start dressing between 11 and 12.  The roads do close off for a bit so plan that.

Last two years I parked at the lot right next to Eli Cannons.  We usually end up forming somewhere near the side roads over there.

  7. Hey all, you may have notice in the past few days our forums have gone to sith.  Our web provider had a major crash of their MySQL server resulting in various bad things; we lost tables of data.

To mitigate this issue, we restored a back up to April 16, 2023.  As such, any forum actions (Posts, events, topics, sign ups, etc) that occurred between April 16 and April 21 are lost to the abyss.  You'll have to recreate them.

    Sorry for the downtime!

    Hi there!

I’m a Rebel from Alderaan Base, and I’ve been hoping to go to this event for years!

I’d like to go as Din Djarin but I understand if the local one had already signed up. Problem is I can’t find the costume list, could someone point me in the right direction? I have others as well just in case but would love some pics of Din next to airplanes and the like :)

I’ve never trooped outside my garrison so I am totally new to this, apologies if I’m stepping on anyone’s toes!

    Hey John!

We don't have a costume listing.  Just folks posting here or on the event itself if they're going as a face character.  I assume @Feliz will be a Vader.  @CTdadalorian20 is our only Din I think, so if they're not signing up for this one I think you're okay to be Din Djarin!
