Popular Post Backpacks Got Jets
Hey everyone.?? As our resident Boba Fett I figured I would post a 501st Bounty Hunter Resource for everyone to mull over.?? To start here are a few helpful links that you can't ignore if you're looking to build a Bounty Hunter Costume. ?? 501st Bounty Hunter's Guild Costume Reference Library: http://databank.501st.com/databank/BHG_CRL This is a comprehensive list of all approved and potentially approvable Bounty Hunter costumes in the 501st ?? Bounty Hunter's Guild Detachment Forums: www.thebhg.net The Bounty Hunter's Guild (BHG) is the official 501st detachment for bounty hunters.?? Check this forum out and sign up if you're interested in being a bounty hunter.?? Most of the forum is locked unless you're an approved 501st Bounty Hunter The BHG is not as active as I would hope, and the community isn't super helpful but it is still a good resource if you're looking to work on your build. The Dented Helmet: This is the resource everyone should be using if you're building a Bounty Hunter.???? The Dented Helmet (TDH) is very active and very aggressive forum.?? They know every detail of Boba/Jango Fett and they have a very active and helpful community to answer any questions you might have regarding your builds.?? Be warned that these guys are EXTREME hobbyists and being such they can be elitist or be unnecessarily nitpicky and annoying at times, but they are hands down the best way to build the best costume you can.?? www.thedentedhelmet.com ?? Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club: The Mandalorian mercs are another Star Wars THEMED costuming organization.?? They have their own guidelines and only Canon mandalorians (Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Pre Viszla etc) are approvable costumes for the 501st legion.?? They also have their own standards so make sure that if you want to do a joint membership that you check all the boxes for the MMCC and the 501st or else you might be disappointed.?? Even if you don't build a Mandalorian, the MMCC is a helpful resource for costume building and prop acquisition. www.mandalorianmercs.org ?? FAQ: Are Bounty Hunter Costumes easy to build? No.?? Bounty Hunter costumes are some of the more detailed costumes to build and can be some of the most time consuming as well.???? Make sure you're not in a hurry to get approved.???? ?? Are Hunter Costumes inexpensive: No.?? Bounty Hunter costumes can be some of the most expensive.?? Many of the accessories required for bounty hunter costumes can be hard to come by or are just generally expensive.?? Also there are LOTS of parts for most Bounty Hunter costumes and many people don't know what they're getting into when they start.?? If your budget is 500 dollars and you want to build a ESB Boba Fett you will be sorely disappointed ?? Where do I start? Research!?? My advice is print out the CRL from the 501st website for the costume you want. Make a comprehensive list of ALL of the parts you need.?? Begin your hunt for parts and price them out on your list.?? Get a good idea of what kind of money you will be spending and on what parts before you dive head first into buying bits.?? Very often there will be parts you can't buy quickly or that are custom made such as tailored items.?? These types of items can have VERY long lead times (many months) to get delivered.?? I would advise on buying those types of items first so you're not sitting on a whole competed outfit while you're waiting for your jump suit or pants to arrive! ?? Where do I buy all this stuff? This is the interesting part! Ebay:?? Buyer Beware! There are quality props and costume Items on Ebay but remember that someone posting their item as "501st approved" is likely just using that as a selling point.???? Be very careful. Etsy - Etsy can be a very good resource for handmade props but you need to do your research on the prop maker and their props before buying something that may be non-refundable.???? Very much like Ebay, but the quality from Etsy I think is a little better than Ebay. Detachment Board - The Bounty Hunter's Guild has a number of prop makers that frequent the board and they'll be more than happy to sell you their wares.?? The detachment boards will also be a good place to ask questions about items you may see on ebay or etsy to see if they would be good enough for a kit! The Dented Helmet - Much like the detachment boards the dented helmet is rife with prop makers who would love to take your money.?? ?? Post any other questions you may have about building a Bounty Hunter in this thread! 3 Link to comment
