Going to use this as an ongoing IG-88 Progress thread.?? No idea how long this project will take but stay tuned.

These are some screen shots of the model I had commissioned to start the build.

I ended up buying a CR10-S5 3D Printer because 1: I really wanted a 3D Printer and 2: It was the only one available for a?? reasonable price that had a big enough print area for the parts.

After a MOUNTAIN of issues with my printer i was finally able to start working on the build.

Heres some rough prints of progress on the head

SO as with 3D prints you have to do a ton of post-print work to get them all nice and ready to be a real prop.?? I use XTC-3D by smooth on to do the initial smoothing and then prime/sand/fill prime/sand/fill etc until the desired finish is achieved.... which sucks

Once the head was finished I failed miserably at creating a mold to cast the head in resin so @Alay did it for me because im super useless and she's better at it than I am.

With the Resin cast head I printed all the greeblies and the eyes to go along with the head and got a copper coupling to go over the large eye.

Now that he head was done I built the right side of the chest and his right arm

The model allows for standard size bolts to put it together.?? eventually I'm going to model snaps so they fit a little tighter than the bolts do right now.

But I ended up having to change the neck model which altered the chest so that has to be re-printed
