  1. @Backpacks Got Jets - have you ever tried the Celtic Cavern in Middletown? Seems like a nice place to eat. I reckon we should aim for a reservation of 10 or so? Perhaps a few more depending on schedules and how early we can get the reservation booked.
  2. Thanks for mentioning this, Jason. I was only talking to Chris Arcouette about the parade a couple of days ago. I'm not sure I'll have the energy to march after doing the troop in Madison, but I'm glad we'll have some CTG representation there; I know it's been more than a couple of years since we've been able to make this happen.
  3. Money orders with a letter of explanation will go off to CCMC in the next week.
  4. I'm looking to make reservations for a small get-together in the holiday season (besides our anticipated usual dinner after the Prospector troop), and I'm interested in suggestions for a place and food type. Somewhere Middletown-way perhaps? The town has a lot of nice places to eat and is roughly equidistant to most people in the state I think. @Backpacks Got Jets- you reckon somewhere like Eli Canon's would be able to do us in December?
  5. Thank you so much to everyone that came along over the three days. I'd like to??especially thank??@Wildcardz, @qsalgado40011, @Madxena, and @Alay??for taking table duty and making sure things went smoothly. Our helmet raffle??raised a final total of $1011 for CCMC - an exceptional achievement. Great job everyone! ??I think I'm going to sleep until next weekend's troop.
  6. We (just) have enough wristbands for the 501st/MMCC members signed up tomorrow. If you'd like to bring an additional person into the convention, please ask them to purchase a ticket for the day.
  7. Sarah and I are delayed a bit and will be unloading the props for 11:30. If you arrive before then Michelle is on the scene ((860) 608-1062), after that her or I ((860) 986-0338).?? We'll have a better system for collecting wristbands for tomorrow.??
  8. I have requested further clarification on the number of passes. Please stand by. We're right by the entrance so it won't be a long walk luckily. I'll post phone numbers for those in plain clothes at the table so we can run and let people in.??
  9. HWTs: Sandtrooper wannabees. Also have to lug around a backpack. Are too lazy to do basic armour maintenance.??
  10. Hello friends, it has been a while. First off, I'd like to congratulate and welcome Louis Secki (@Mylehigh) to the CTG. His costume is excellent and I hope to see him at some of our events in the near future! Speaking of events, here's a selection of things we are or could be doing in the next 2-3 months: Terrificon! Comic Book Convention at Mohegan Sun, Friday 9th of August - Sunday the 11th. Summer Reading Star Wars Convention at Manchester Public Library, Saturday the 17th of August. The Lutz Children's Museum Farm Day, Saturday the 31st of August. "Wishes on Wheels" supporting the Make-A-Wish charity, Sunday the 15th of September. Imperial Bookdrive at RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison, Saturday the 21st of September. DEAFTOPIA @ The American School for the Deaf, Saturday the 5th of October. The Southington Apple Harvest Parade, Sunday the 6th of October. There's also obviously the Premiere of "Rise of Skywalker" on December 20th (at the Prospector Theatre, if they're interested in having us back!) and any other requests we get in the meantime. Go sign up for stuff!! In other miscellaneous news: We were recently generously donated a set of Death Star replica backdrop panels by our good friend Randy Ambramson (@magni)! Expect to see them displayed at Terrificon next month. ?? I've also received permission to present artist Paul Gulacy (artist for my favourite Star Wars comic-book "Crimson Empire") with Honorary Membership of the 501st Legion. I've had a plaque made up for him and we'll do the presentation at Terrificon. We're looking to get a coin run and a patch run done before the new years, as well as discuss a new, secondary logo design for the CTG, and have a think about 15th Anniversary merch for next year. Keep an eye out for those. Finally, it was my pleasure to be involved with the Weird Al Yankovic performance last weekend, and you can find the signature board I got from the event at the top of this post. I had a great night and I'm really proud of all our troopers (plus a few of our friends from the NEG) who turned out to support the Garrison. ?? Until next time... keep trooping! ?? - Chewy

  14. I'm happy to confirm this with just Sarah and myself, but I'd really love to get another trooper or two involved - last years was great fun and I'm happy that I can make it this time. It's a really chill event with yard games and pictures with kids and ice-cream!
  15. Oh, also, if you took video or pictures at the day - please upload them to Google Drive or similar and drop me a link, please! Sending them through Facebook compressing the files and makes them look quite bad. Thank you!
  16. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came along last night - we had a great showing! I'd like to thank @carcouette and @Silentperformance especially for lending us a hand at quite short notice. Now... onwards to Terrificon!
  17. Sarah and I are parked on level 4 of the Fox Tower. Most spots are full in lower levels.??
  18. Okay. When you get here, head towards the Grand Theatre and meet up in the lobby of the theatre. The same way you'd go through security to get to see a show normally. Call me if you're lost. 860 986-0338??
  19. Bring blasters if you've got them. I was under the impression that we wouldn't need them on stage, but I just watched the NEG guys walk out onto the stage with them... so...??
  20. Hey, I'm sorry but we're already set for this. I'll definitely get you involved next time he comes around though.
  21. Final list of names confirmed: Jim Sprenkle - @jimsprenkle (vader) Michelle Crouch - @Madxena (stormtrooper) Jan Abustan - @BFKN (stormtrooper) Brian Sands - @bsands (stormtrooper) Andy Tam - @Wildcardz (stormtrooper/wrangler) Christopher Bailey (stormtrooper) Sarah Bailey - @Alay (stormtrooper) Jerred Best - @Swiftcloud (fett) Johnna Best - @BestWife (wrangler/photographer) Nick MacNeil - @Silentperformance (stormtrooper) Chris Arcouette - @carcouette (stormtrooper) John Hajnal - @MagyarSoldat (wrangler/photographer) Salena Sprenkle (wrangler) If your name is on this list, please come to Foxwoods tomorrow night. I cannot guarantee backstage access for anyone else. You must arrive at or before 5PM. I'd suggest parking in the Fox Tower Garage because it is closest to the Grand Theatre. When you're there, go to the backstage entrance of the Grand Theatre. I haven't been given exactly directions there myself, so I'm going to be figuring that out when I get there. Call me on (860) 986-0338 closer to the time if you're really lost. Bring one item you'd like signed by Weird Al. We're going to do group pictures and a few individual ones and all that, but let's not overwhelm the guy with autograph requests. Again, I'm on (860) 986-0338 if you need me. I get a lot of spam calls so it might be a good idea to text me first so I'm guaranteed to pick up. ??
