Secure changing/staging area: Yes Can troopers carry blasters: Yes Can troopers carry/bring props like lightsabers and staffs: Yes Is parking available: Yes Is venue accessible to those with limited mobility: Yes Amenities available at venue: Flush toilets Water Lunch is provided in a limited window at our Green Room. We have a private area where members can get out of site of the general public to sit and rest. Comments: ABOUT THE FAIRE The 24th annual Connecticut Renaissance Faire is an enchanted recreation of a 16th-century harvest festival as one might have been in the days of yore. WHAT WE DO The Connecticut Renaissance Faire offers FREE PARKING to guests with a kind donation requested by local nonprofits as a fundraiser. Paying for parking is done at the discretion of the visitor. While the weather is always a factor, these fundraisers are highly successful and positively impact the communities they serve. The nonprofit keeps 100% of its earnings from coordinating the parking lot and guiding cars to park. WHAT WE'RE ASKING Some of our long-time patrons and friends are members of the 501st who attend the Faire annually as Storm Troopers and other Empire members. They pointed us in your direction. We request the presence of the 501st to assist the town of Lebanon's Project Graduation with parking cars on October 8, 9, and 10. These dates are our "Time Travelers" themed weekend, filling our streets with exciting characters. We hope your presence will boost the fundraiser, making it their most successful year. WHAT YOU WOULD NEED TO HELP The folks at Project Graduation would communicate with guests about the fundraiser and collect donations. Members of the 501st would guide cars into parking places to assist the fundraiser from 9 am to 3 pm. It would take around six people to run the parking lot smoothly. OTHER ACTIVITIES We'd love to see at least 18-20 stormtroopers allowing each group to do a 2-hour parking shift, and then the rest of their time is spent inside the Faire. Inside the Faire, the stormtroopers can march in the parade at 1:15 pm and protect the king and queen by patrolling behind them or standing guard during jousts. We also know the stormtroopers are popular for photo ops on their own. HALLOWEEN PARTY On Saturday, October 8, we are hosting an after-hours Halloween Party for adults 18+. Parking on this day runs a few hours later than usual (from 8 am to 5 pm). We invite all assisting members of the 501st to attend this Halloween Party that begins at 6:30 pm. MEDIA COVERAGE?? While we can't guarantee media coverage, we will submit a media release to local outlets to get coverage of the 501st assisting with the fundraiser. We are approximately 30 minutes from many prominent media outlets like Channel 3 News, NBC 30, the Hartford Courant, the Willimantic Chronicle, and more.?? FINAL NOTES We feel that stormtroopers would have the best look to handle parking, but know that any characters from the Empire would be well received. If you have a Darth Vader, Bounty Hunters, or other dark side characters, we welcome them, too. If you cannot get the numbers you need, even just a single interactive character where the nonprofit is collecting donations would make a difference. Referred by: ??Several of your members are friends and attend annually.

We have officially committed to our presence at Terrificon this year and are VERY excited to be able to be back again at Mohegan Sun! This weekend is always a great time and one of, if not our most, successful fundraising events of the year. This year we will again be raising money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and we will also be partnering up with our good friends at The Saber Guild. This post is to start getting a gauge of interest in the event. An official schedule will be set up a little down the road. We will have very limited tickets for the event so tickets will only be available to active members, working at least one full shift, in costume. We will assess the availability of tickets for wrangles if there are leftover tickets. ??We will let you know how many tickets are available once we have this confirmed with the event organizer. Anyone can of course troop and even if no free tickets are available, tickets are only $30-$35 each day, which is minuscule compared to the fun we have and more importantly, the fundraising impact we have at this event. ??Make sure when singing up that you let us know what day (s) you're interested in trooping.??Get off your butts and sign up!!! ?? DAY-OF INSTRUCTIONS! READ ME ! Please arrive for your scheduled shift with enough time to park, gain access, and suit up and be ready and in costume by the time you signed up for. "WHERE DO I PARK?"?? - When approaching the casino, you'll see signs for terrificon by the Earth Tower hotel.?? You can park in the parking garage or large outdoor parking lot by the Earth Tower.?? Parking is free. "WHERE DO I GO?" - The convention center entrance is to your left as soon as you walk into the casino building from the parking area.?? You won't be able to miss it.???? There will likely be a ticket sales kiosk and a ton of people in costumes.?? If you cant find it... you need to try a little harder. "HOW DO I GET IN?!" - Like we've mentioned before.?? We have several passes to allow troopers to gain access.?? These passes are limited and will be specifically limited to costumed trooping members on a first come first serve basis.?? If you're planning on bringing extra people, be prepared to have to pay for their ticket to enter.?? In order to get the pass, contact a command representative once you're ready at the venue.?? You'll be met outside the doors with a pass. "WHO ARE THESE MYSTERIOUS COMMAND REPRESENTATIVES?"?? Contact through Facebook messenger or text or calling.?? As shift times approach we will be looking for who should be coming in and keeping an eye out for your texts. Main points of contact will be: Joe Civitello - 813-362-1812 Nick Scofield - 203-430-2533 If you can't get in touch with either of us, there should be several people on-shift you can reach out to via FB messenger.?? Please don't post in the Connecticut Hangout group asking for access.?? Use messenger or texting. "IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO CHANGE?" - We will have some storage and changing space behind our blast door walls.?? Also there is going to be a small banquet room directly behind our area that can be used for changing as well.???? Saber Guild will have a room for their demonstrations that can potentially be used for a changing area as well but that would be at their discretion and timing. "I AM BRINGING PEOPLE WITH ME WHO ARE IN COSTUME BUT ARE NOT APPROVED MEMBERS OF ANY GROUP AND I HAVEN'T CONTACTED COMMAND STAFF ABOUT BRINGING THEM AND I INTEND TO HAVE THEM HANG OUR AND PARTICIPATE AT THE 501ST TABLE..." No.?? You aren't.???? We often have an issue at larger events where people decide on their own that they should just bring whatever family or friend to tag along and participate.?? The 501st legion holds itself to a high standard for a reason.?? Any person in-costume that is not an official member who has not gotten explicit approval from the CO to attend in costume will be asked to dress down into street clothes or leave the 501st/Rebel Legion vendor area.?????? Also, remember, access will be for troopers first.?? Any non-garrison personnel will be subject to buying their own ticket for access. "ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED" - Within reason.?? You would be responsible for your child's behavior and accountability.?? Along with this, bringing a child will not absolve a member who is supposed to be trooping from trooping their shift.?? If the child attending causes issues or prevents their guardian from performing their duties, the trooper will be asked to leave or make other accommodations for the child attending.?? The trooper risks losing credit for a troop if they have to spend their trooping time monitoring a child attendee. SETUP/BREAKDOWN - If you're signed up for setup, we will be meeting at the Mohegan Sun loading area at 9:30AM on Friday July 29. ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Event Name: ??Terrificon 2022??
