  1. So begins the process of becoming one of the cool kids with armor. I was actually surprised to see that there are 6 individual variants of the gunner CRL. I’m planning on doing the original, blowing up Alderaan, imperial gunner and my bib hopefully should be completed soon. I’d love to have this done for the Ren Faire, but we’ll see what happens.
  2. Bought a plastic-only kit from MonCal. Arrived a few weeks back! I'm gonna paint the thing in a Feldgrau and try to match it to the fabric as much as possible.?? I think the film one was more of a green, but this should look better in person under warm lights instead of set paint.
  3. Well. Here I am again. Posting another WIP progress report. I guess costuming is sort of an addiction, like getting a tattoo. You do one, and tell yourself “I’m done now, that’s all I need”. Then before you know it, you are right back in the parlor looking to get another one done. Lol, well here we go again… This time I’m gonna finally make what I think everyone SHOULD start with. A good ole shiny white “O.T.” Stormtrooper. They are so universal and there is always room for one more TK. I feel like I should have made this my first costume when I signed up. But I was too excited about making my Boba Fett so I dove right in on the deep end first. Well, now I’ve decided to finally make a TK. Recently, a bunch of other members started telling me how they placed their order for TK’s with Walt’s Trooper Factory. -something that I was recently considering as well. When I saw that they had decided to go for it is when I threw my hat in the ring also. And I’ve just received my kit from @Walter and I’m excited to get started. Like I even have time for another project. Oh well, I’ll rest when I’m dead, right?! Lol
  4. Hello fellow troopers. I am currently trooping as my favorite version of the greatest bounty hunter - the ROTJ Boba Fett. I have decided to start building the Boba Fett costume from the last episode of the Mandalorian -season 2. I believe some are referring to him lovingly as ???Boba Fresh???, so that???s what I will call it for the time being. I have already started collecting and creating some of the parts that are hopefully close if not exact. I will be mirroring this WIP on the Dented Helmet??forum as well. So far, I have gathered the boots that are believed to be closest to screen used. They are made by Nortiv 8. I still need to make the gators, which I have already gathered material for. Also, I have received the harem style pants. I got these from an online retailer called SHEIN. They look and feel pretty decent and should work for now, until more info is gathered. The black turtleneck undershirt came from an ebay seller, new from China. And as I should have expected is a bit small and tight fitting even though I bought what they are calling extra large. It will have to do for now. I got the rope for the girth belt from Pet hardware website and I am currently sewing it all together. As of right now, I am using parts from my ROTJ suit as a placeholder until I can find or make the new versions. Namely: the flak vest, chest, back and knee armor and gauntlets. The helmet is not my ROTJ one. It???s just the Black Series one. I will be getting the correct one, once a correct one has been certified. So here is my mock-up so far. So much more to go, but you have to start somewhere.??
  5. https://ctg501.com/community/index.php?/gallery/album/115-gideon-hask-quentin-salgado/ Since Del is the same group and basically same costume as Gideon I, with the help of Michelle, was able to complete a bandolier for Gideon. I am a member on the forums for JRS btw??and just??let me know if anything else is needed for pictures.??Hoping to make CTG home to??2/3 of Inferno Squad!??

  7. Hello fellow legion members, Just making this topic a thread for a update and show of the pieces I have gotten for my build.?? So far I have only received my shoulder ammo pouch in the mail and I know as boring as that might be to start this thread Id figured I just post about it now verses waiting another week or two. Also am happy to point out that these were from trooperbay, thanks Art for showing me, and was surprised to see the stitching was already black!???? Also I had hoped my Helmet would have been here after 4 months of having ordered it but sadly it has not yet arrived, gonna have to contact seller again. To add to the list of items im waiting to come in are my boots that I got from Sovietboots.com. Cant wait to see them but was wondering if anyone had experience buying items from them and if I must contact the US customs office to see if I gotta pay extra tax for an international item? I did pay a flat rate of $30 so im hoping that covers customs if thats the case. Otherwise im gonna continue making more purchases throughout the next few months for more parts and we will see how far I get by the end of summer. Plan is to be done by Winter this year. Below are two photos front and back of the shoulder ammo pouch, sorry if they look grainy seems like phone photos take a turn for the??worse on laptop,??anyone have any ideas as to how I give the pouches more of a filled look?????Or do I need to find some sort of light ammo cartridge thats the same size to give it that true look??? Have a great day, Q
  8. So, among all of my other projects, art pieces, 3D prints and costume builds (not to mention all my adulting responsibilities, lol) I have finally started ??working on Johnna???s Jawa costume.?? ??I believe I have gathered most of the materials needed to get a good start on it. We have already made up a mock template from an old sheet and will need to bring the monks cloth and templates to my mother???s??to put her sewing machine wizardry to the test.?? ??Actually it should be a breeze for her. Meanwhile, I downloaded the STL files to print the Ion Blaster. They have actually been printed for about 4 months now and I got tired of shuffling??the pieces out of my way in the??craft bench. So tonight, I assembled and painted it. It???s pretty much done. Just have to find a rotary spring for the trigger movement. Unfortunately I only stopped to take a few pics during the assembly. -I get too into my work to remember to snap pics lol. ??Anyway, here is what we have so far. ??More to come. (In between working on my FOTK of course) ??
  9. Submitted for feedback - Imperial Line Officer
  10. Hi all, as many of you know I am working on Captain Phasma. So I figured I should share on the build thread. It is still in the early prep stage. Sand, sand, sand. Ugh what was I thinking? LOL I know it will be well worth it. It???s just the fact of getting there. ??Here are some pics of the progress so far. I know I???m going to regret all that bondo putty. I have my gaskets from Geeky Pink and my belt from Belts of the First Order. My sister is going to help me with the cape. Now the weather just has to get better so I can get this thing done.?? All those pieces. Yikes First try on Had to fix a crack from shipping ??
  11. My long long process of becoming a cheap Boba Fett knockoff.... I'm creating a Jodo Kast costume.?? For those unfamiliar, the character was created by West End Games to be a "mini-boss" for their RPG campaign Tatooine Manhunt.?? Since killing the actual Boba Fett would have canon issues, they added the character so RPG players could accidentally murder the boss without those issues.?? He became popular with nerds, and eventually got mentioned in Tales of the Bounty Hunter's Boba Fett story.???? ?? He was depicted again in Decipher for their Customizable Card Game He also made an appearance as a lazy alternate-color Boba Fett for Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi video game (my apologies to anyone that has had the displeasure of playing it) ?? Finally, Dark Horse Comics ended the character with their one-shot, Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction. ?? I'll be doing my version from the comic, where he's an orange/green mandalorian that looks just about like Fett.?? My representation of choice is the style he appears in as he exits his ship in the start of the third act. When all else fails, this will usually be my frame of reference: ?? It should be noted, the comic was printed twice; once in paper in January 1997, and again as a digital e-comic by Marvel in 2015.?? The e-comic is horribly washed out: I will be using the original comic printing with it's orange coloring rather than the off-yellow of the E-Comic.?? However, referenced pictures in this thread will usually be crops from the E-Comic.?? I have the original printing on hand for reference. Extra fun; Jodo Kast actually changes panel to panel, in colors and appearance.?? This is artist errors or changes, and as such sometimes references from the comic contradict themselves.?? I will be using two universal assumptions when building this costume; The artist intended Boba Fett to look like his Return of the Jedi movie costume. The artist intended Jodo Kast to mimic Boba Fett's costume. As such, where details are too nebulous or not referenced, I will be defaulting to the ROTJ Boba Fett costume. There are cases where I will be using the movie costume and "overriding" the comic portrayal, either for aesthetic reasons or because of assumed artist error. my reference guide (WIP) ?? Item rundown thus far: Flightsuit -- On order from Clothears Armor -- Aluminum made by some loser Chest Diamond -- Stolen by??@Backpacks Got Jets Gauntlets -- Purchased from a fella on TDH.?? ROTJ gauntlets, fiberglass and converted to a soft resin.?? Will be replacing with aluminum ones as the process continues... Boots -- Imperial Boots debut run Jetpack -- Modified MoW jetpack Greeblies -- Machined aluminum/copper??from TDH Helmet -- GMH2 FP, a version I bought with aluminum ears and a hallow stalk already.?? Will be converted. Grenades and Rockets -- Shapeways print??from Toolguy, molding and casting in resin for prosperity. A bit picture sparse for now... I fully expect this build will take over a year to complete... I'm already 6 months into it+ ?? ?? ?? ??
  12. Got all the parts for my Imperial Bridge Crew uniform. The one problem I have is the boots don't fit over my calfs.
  13. As some of you know I cheated and got my TK armor used instead of starting from a kit. The previous owner was??taller than I am. Tall enough to where I need to do some trimming down on a few pieces. Shouldn't be too hard but I figure I would post pictures as I go. I Haven't had time to start??yet, but I did get my boots in! I feel like Cinderella!?? ?? I noticed some TK's have this odd notch on top of the left thigh. It's hard to tell from movie reference shots if this is the same for all TK's because the drop box??often covers that area. Should this be made smooth or is it more accurate to keep the notch?
  14. Ok Everyone, Here go nothing. I figured it was time to start this thread. I've only got?? a few things as of not but I wanted to let you all know I am working on this.?? I've ordered an armor kit and now i'm waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for it to arrive. I've been told it should ship out on Monday.?? ?? The only actual work I've done so??far is to remove the logo tag from the gloves. Evidently the tiny holes left by the threads are actually screen accurate. This weekend I am planning on dyeing my plash black. Lou
  15. So first off. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jerred. I am part Native American Indian and an enrolled member of??the Narragansett Indian Tribe in RI. My Native given name is Muckquetu Mattauqus, which translates to Swift Cloud. ??I have been a fan of Star Wars for as long as I can remember first going to see A New Hope in a drive-in theater when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I fell in love with just about all the wonderful characters from the story. And as time progressed and the next episodes were released, I became nearly obsessed with the franchise (as most my age did). But a few characters really stood out and made the strongest impression on me. The obvious were Luke, Han, Chewie, Leia, Vader, Yoda, C-3PO and his counterpart??R2-D2. But one of my favorites of all-time had hardly any screen time in comparison. And I was always intrigued by what was mostly un-known about him. His name was Boba Fett. I often imagine myself wearing his Mandolorian armor and flying about using his jet-pack while wielding his??blaster toward his target. Now that I have grown up and, dare I say, older,,,I have decided to try to make at least some of my youth fantasy of becoming Boba a reality. Minus the flying of course. But who knows what the future holds? I tried to take as many pictures of the building process as I could. But I sometimes found myself progressing so much further without stopping to snap a shot. So it???s not necessarily a step-by-step pictorial. More like snapshots of some key points of interest and proof of creation,??alteration and/or invention. Please keep in mind that when I started building Boba Fett, I was not really considering submitting him for 501st approval until I really started getter get more and more detailed in the process. So, some of my procedures may not necessarily be up to par with creating an approvable costume. It is still a work in progress and I am always open to suggestions and criticism. I???m not even really sure if what I am building will ever be approved. But I figured ???what the heck???? So here is my journal. At least a little at a time anyway. (I will add more in as I get the time to submit it, and as I continue with the process) ?? December 1, 2018 update: resubmitted photos for approval. Wish me luck.

  18. Realized my Jodo Kast costume is probably going to take multiple years at the current rate, and I really wanted a bounty hunter costume.?? Since I already have a Line Officer that I use as my posh-and-perfect dressed character, I thought someone that looks as slapped together as Dengar is a great foil! I'll edit these with links in the future... Armor: Coming from TrooperMaster Backpack: Coming from Shawn DLT-19: Hyperfirm (already owned) Holster: Darman Gloves: Tillmans gloves Pouches: Purchased from TKittel Jumpsuit (x2): Purchased from Red Kap Boots: Tandy Leather pattern WIP Belt: TBD Greeblies: TBD ?? The story so far! ?? Dyed my jumpsuit(s): ?? Going to use the second for the hood once I figure out a pattern... I'm bad at sewing and nervous about this lol! ?? Here's the gloves I'm using?? ?? I realized with a dremmel I can get the logo off... here's a couple of minutes and it's already half faded I've taken it off completely on both so far ?? So far the biggest bother is the boots... ?? Cutting the leather is already miserable... when it gets to lacing them it'll be even worse I'm betting. ?? Last but not least, I've been playing around with making a scar prosthetic for the facial stuff.?? My first attempt at making a simple mold for one, using Smooth-On brand resin and Dragon-FX Pro ?? More pictures to come... I'll probably make a second and third version of the scaring prosthetic mold.?? I figure since I already am going to have to use plenty of makeup to cover my freckles, it should be easy enough to hide a prosthetic.
