  1. Ahoy Friends! I have decided to build a Grand Admiral Thrawn costume, specifically how he appears in Rebels/Ahsoka. I know we have one approved Thrawn in our Garrison already, which is a boon, and I will appreciate all of your help and input. For parts, all I really have for the moment are the boots. If you have seen my Han Solo costume, it’s the exact same pair. They are knee high black English riding boots made from leather, and have no fasteners or zippers. The trickiest part of this costume will be the soft parts, specifically the tunic and trousers. They must be made of the same material, and the trousers must be made of a reasonably durable material so that my prosthetic knee doesn’t chew a bunch of holes in them. For those of you who have gotten officers approved, who made your uniforms? I will most likely need to commission both the tunic and trousers. I will post updates here as they come along. Thanks for joining me on this mission!
  2. With over 12+ 501st costumes it’s been a shame that I haven’t done any white armor, so I decided that 2024 will be the year to change that! I’ve loved the look of the First Order TK since I first saw it on screen, and particularly love the look with the riot baton and shield. So I’ve taken the plunge! 501st CRL: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_TLJ After significant research and multiple build threads, I’m going with the Denuo Novo (DN) armor kit which leans more towards TLJ than TFA, along with the TLJ helmet from DN. This meant a low cost or budget build thread, as I often aim for Level 2/3 requirements for my own OCD/standards even if I don’t seek that level with the detachments. My complete build list with selected and ordered components is outlined below: Required Costume Components Helmet Denuo Novo The Last Jedi FO Helmet (Standard) - Went with the Standard over Premiere for both cost and weight considerations. Neck Seal Denuo Novo Stormtrooper Neck Seal - While in Rome… Armor Kit Denuo Novo FO Stormtrooper Standard Kit Gaskets: Denuo Novo Included Gloves: Endor Finders Undersuit: TrooperStore Boots: KeepTrooping (fka Imperial Boots) Component Uogrades Back/Yoke: Ukswrath’s FOTK Shoulder Bell Support Bracket Holster: R2Dan’s V2 Metal Holster Abdomen Section: Rogue Repros Zippered Closure Harness: Tony Jobe’s FOTK Harness from the DN FOTK Kit Building Group on Facebook Pouches: TrooperBay Gaskets: Thorsson Associates Workshop (TandAWorkshop) Slipcast Latex Gasket Set Optional Accessories Riot Baton: Black Series Riot Shield: 850 Armor Works Kit Blaster: SE-44C Pistol, will be 3D printed as my sidearm. Much more to come as orders start to arrive! I don’t have a clear time table for completion yet but hoping TerrifiCon will be a reasonable target for debut. Stay tuned!
  3. Well the armor bug has finally bitten and bitten hard. The next project will be a snowtrooper. I’m hoping to get the boots done by the end of the weekend. My pants have been ordered and hopefully, by the time this gets attention, the beginning phases of the duster will be underway. I will say this about the boots, they are probably the most comfortable pair I own now and those liners are wicked cozy! I kind of want another pair just for winter hikes and snow removal. I’m feeling a little more confident on the armor build side after doing the gunner (even though it was just the helmet) and hopefully things will go well.
  4. Hey everyone! So I joined the CTG forums a while back and have already sounded off in the recruits tab. I mentioned that I've been working on a DT build for the 501st, but never got around to actually making a WIP post in this forum so here we go: Edit (3/25): So I just received my undersuit in the mail, however, it was sent to my college campus before I even get there so I won't be able to wear it for a few days XD. Hoping to upload some pics of it by next week. 5. Hi??all!??I??joined the CTG Forums back in the summer, and admittedly I only visit on occasion to see what's going on. Over the past several months I have been collecting materials and pieces for my RO build, with regular advice and assistance from members over at the SLD. I am well on my way to collecting what I need and figured I would start up a WIP thread while I was thinking about it. My eventual goal is for 501st approval, so I thought it would be good to post the list of items now??in the off chance that anything looks way off base. That said, I feel like I have some solid guidance from the SLD, so here's hoping I'm on the right track.?? The list: Helmet ?????Bookface??Quasimodo - Rogue One -??(owned) Chest armor ?????Bookface??-??(owned) Shin guards ??? ??Bookface??-????(owned) Body suit ?????Fenix??3-piece leather - R1 -??(owned) Cape/robe ?????KJB??- (owned - hemmed by awesome wife!) Gloves ?????Endorfinders??(owned) Boots - used Soviet High Chrome Leather Officer Boots with new soles??(owned) Codpiece - DIY??(done) Chest box - DIY -??(done) Belt - Earthly Leather Design??(owned) Belt Boxes - DIY??(done) Lightsaber ??? Master Replicas 2005 ESB style with custom weathering??(owned) [ORIGINAL POST: To clarify, I am in??the process??of collecting the pieces, as I finish building a new??kitchen (from??scratch)! I hope to get to the actual process of DIY-ing by the spring. I will??update the thread as I begin the build so you guys can follow along and, of course, offer constructive criticisms along the way. So looking??forward to this!] Currently done, getting ready to do up some approval pics. Fingers crossed! ??
  6. Hey there everyone! I???m starting to build my second costume which I???ve decided is going to be everyone???s favorite Lord of Hunger, Darth Nihilis. I???ve got the majority of the leather pieces, but I???m having????difficulty finding??the right black fabric. None the less, I will keep moving forward and here???s a little preview of what???s to come. ??
  7. Thanks to @Astraline??I have come into possession of a black flight suit that fits me excellently, so I've decided to put together a ANH TIE Pilot as an alternative to my usual TK. I'm looking specifically to portray??DS-61-3 "Backstabber", one of??two pilots from Black Squadron who flew the trench run with Darth Vader, and ended up shot out of the sky by the rebel Han Solo. This handsome gentleman right here. Seems a pretty straightforward costume to make. Link to costume CRL:??http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TI_TIE_Pilot_ANH Helmet, armour, and hoses: coming from WTF. Balaclava: same one as my TK. Flight Suit: Wampawear.??Already has vinyl Cogwheel patches. Commpad: TBD - probably get @Alay??to help me make one from scratch. Chestbox: TBD - probably 3D printed. Belt:??Tigg-Wolf Creations??or from Wampawear. Gloves: Wampawear, ImperialBoots, or elsewhere. Boots: ImperialBoots, though I'll probably actually??just??go find a pair of jack-boots and make them work. I don't believe Backstabber wears any code cylinders??but I might see if I can get a pair of the wooden stunt ones for funsies. I will be crossposting this to the Jolly Roger Squadron at some point in the near future. More pictures to come soon!

  9. Hi all, looking to join the Blizzard Force Detachment? Or maybe like me, it was love at first sight when you saw the SnowTroopers take Hoth? ??Then your in the right place. ??I???ve started work on an ESB SnowTrooper Build and would like to share my progress, fitting and findings.?? Hopefully this will help you on your journey?? More to come ??
  10. Now I know for the Del Meeko approved costume the DLT-19X and the E-11 are both allowed, I dont have funds for a DLT-19X but do have my hands on this etsy E-11 that was made by someone in mandomercs. I was wondering what everyone's opinion on the detailing and??make of this blaster, and if it is suitable for my costume. I kinda feel that the weathering and detailing could be a lot better and if anyone is okay with helping me fix this and is going to the armor party I would be more than willing to bring it with me. I have several photos below but if these are hard to really see what the blaster is like id like to still bring it to the armor party to get advice on what to make new of it. If anyone knows a affordable and accurate way of building the DLT-19X id love to know!??Thank you.??
