Hi folks.

As of right now the weather for Sunday is going to be pretty miserable (wind??chill on top of normal temperatures??is going to be just about freezing, let alone adding the potential for snow and sleet on top of that), so please keep an eye on this thread for further updates in advance of the parade. I really really don't want to have to call this off but I will do so if it's going to be dangerous for us.

Then again, it could be nice and sunny and dry on Sunday, knowing New England weather. I'd kill for old England weather where you can at least rely on it to rain.

I unfortunately have to bow out. I am just getting over a nasty chest cold thats been hanging on for about three weeks and the thought of it coming back does not appeal to me at all. I am sorry to let you folks down.

So, weather - wise, we're looking at rain and >1 inch of snow in the morning and then it's going to peter out by the time we have to get on the buses to go to the stepping off area. Seeing as we're going to be parked in a garage for most of the morning before we get on the bus, and I can get a ton of rain ponchos and umbrellas, we can potentially make the parade work. For the people who have said they'll be there - how are you feeling about it? I really have no desire to drag everyone along just to be miserable and wet.??

If we were covered and warm then that???s one thing??but I don???t see us being indoors or on the bus staying dry. Plus many of us can???t sit, the XMas run was a fun testimate to that haha ??

I'm backing out of this one, I have ESTA training this previous??week and next in Hartford, so my vacation time this past??week got cancelled, so I couldn't work on anything costume wise.

Several days surrounding Sunday are looking to be beautiful weather. And yet Sunday looks to be absolutely miserable.

I???m praying things will change, but so far the forecast is grim. I really want to do this parade too! I???m gonna continue to watch the forecast and hope to see a change. May the force be with us.

Hey, thank you everyone for your input.

I have decided that we will not march in the Parade this year. This isn't a decision I have taken lightly; to my knowledge this the first year in our history the CTG will not attend and I really didn't want to have to make this decision. With heavy rain, sleet, and 1-3 inches of snow forecasted tomorrow I feel it would be dangerous to allow any of you to march in these conditions. I'm also very aware that you have spent a great of time and money on your costumes, and I highly doubt the weather would be good for them. If we could dress in heavy wool and bundle up then maybe, but unfortunately that's not really an option.

The after-parade dinner at Sliders is still on and I'd encourage everyone who's interested to come along and chill out in the warm. Joe is looking to schedule it a bit earlier (around 2pm), so please keep an eye out here on our forums and on social media for further info.

Again, I apologise for having to do this. I know the Parade has been one of our marquee events for many many years, but I can't in good conscience allow this to happen if I feel it's going to be dangerous. Thank you for your understanding.

Just a heads up, the New England Garrison is doing an event tomorrow at the Big E, if anyone really aad their hearts set on trooping and would like to do something a little more in door ?? The Car show at the Big E is a fun event and all indoors in the Better living building. More troopers would be welcomed by the hosts, I am sure. If the roads are good then?? just let them know you want to play. The cars are cool to see and the organizers love having us there.
