Please note:

1. Self-powered vehicles and wagons or trailers longer than 10 feet or wider than 8 feet must enter the  assembly area at 12:30 p.m. Large vehicles will not be allowed into the assembly area after the streets are blocked for assembly at 1:00 p.m.

5. At the end of the Pride March, marchers should proceed directly into the Pride Rally/ Pride Fest on the South Green.  Large vehicles must turn left onto Union Street.

Middletown PrideFEST 2023 will take place from 12:00-10:00 p.m. in downtown Middletown. The event will kick off with a march down Main Street beginning at 1:00 p.m. sharp from the northern end of Main Street. The March will conclude at the end of Main Street with participants entering the South Green area and vehicles continuing on the route down Union Street to park their vehicles.

Once the march concludes, we will host our second annual Pride Rally on the South Green from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

I was truly hoping to make this one. It’s a birthday weekend with the family (daughters). If I miss it I’m in deep poodoo.

Hello! Sorry for the late confirmation, I am finally able to see this thread! Rey wasn't approved, so handler it is! Though, I see you have a couple already. If you don't need another one, just holler.

I just read the last note. I’m happy to say that after doing some negotiating with family the birthday is being moved to Sunday. So I’m in for the parade! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Hey everyone, signed up for handler/Wangler.

I was going to bring a folding wagon/cart and throw a case of water in there for people. Since it's supposed to be hot. Ppl can also throw stuff they don't wanna carry as well.

Is this okay to bring? Or should I leave it at home?

I'm pretty sure the two handlers coming with me and I can stop at the after party. Sounds like fun.  Also do they have to be part of the group to sign up as handlers? I don't see how to put them in otherwise.

With handlers/wranglers accompanying you they don't have to be a member of the group but it's important to remember that they are your responsibility and their behavior reflects on you and their ability to continue to contribute.  Should  be fine as long as they don't cause an outright problem :)

I'd leave it at home.  It will end up being more trouble than it's worth.  I'll have my motorcycle which has a trunk if needed for waters or small stow aways

FINAL PARADE UPDATE :

Barricades erected in North End.........................................  11:00 PM

Vehicles and Large Floats arrive ………….............................. 11:30 PM

Marchers arrive ………….……………………….............…………….. ARRIVE WITH ENOUGH TIME TO BE DRESSED AND READY AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO STEP OFF.  PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

March starts…………………………………………………...…………....... 1:00 PM

FORMATION AREA: DIVISION 3 - PEASE AVE & STACK STREET INTERSECTION

THERE WILL BE NO SHUTTLING FROM MY PLACE - Walt got tied up this weekend and we won't have the ability to dress at my place and shuttle to the form area.  So it's parking lot dressing - Please be prepared for this

LACK OF SHUTTLE SERVICE MEANS YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR WAY BACK TO YOUR VEHICLES AFTER THE PARADE

PARKING:

The closest parking lot to the step off point is in front of Perkatory Coffee Roasters.  If you get there early there should be plenty of parking if you want to be close to step off.    The bad part is you'll have to walk the entire route back to your car once we break off at the south end park.

The "middle ground" area is the Melili lot.

Closest to break off area is the lot next to metro movies.  NOT THE METRO MOVIES LOT THEY WILL TOW YOU.

Choose the parking and dressing situation that best suits your needs.

DURING THE PARADE:

Costumed characters will be in formation (more or less)  Handlers will be posted on the outside of the formation to prevent the crowd from approaching the costumed members.

EVERYONE WHO IS ARRIVING AS A HANDLER WILL BE EXPECTED TO ACT AS A HANDLER DURING THE PARADE.  I know everyone wants to have a good time but parades can get difficult sometimes so handlers will be expected to help out.  If there are people just hanging around and not helping they will be asked to leave the parade group.

AFTER THE PARADE:

Cookout at my place if you're feeling froggy.  33 Wall Street.  It's about a mile from the end of the parade route

If you have questions either text me or message me on facebook day-of and I'll get to your messages as I can.  Don't call.  I wont hear it and I'll be too busy. 813-362-1812

All the information you'll need to know is posted here or around this thread so if i you can't get in touch with me I promise the answers are here somewhere.

Heres a map of the area to give you guys a visual

See you soon!
